It is time to leave another year behind, and as always, Buen Fin arrives in the final months — specifically from November 10 to 16. It is an opportunity to get those products we always want, with discounts of 10% to 15%, but…
Is Buen Fin really worth it?
The answer is no, because it is a mass sales strategy to clear out products from shopping centers. Let’s look at an example:
Samsung TV, regular retail price: $15,000 (on sale any time of year)
Samsung TV, previously priced at $25,000, now $14,999 (Buen Fin sale)
This can be known as “momentary sales inflation” — we cannot deny that seeing a drop from an artificially high price to a relatively low one creates an impact.
This is where we put to the test everything we learn here at D3sconocidos about self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.
If we understand this, we realize it is a sales strategy. We cannot deny that some promotions do make sense and genuinely lower the original price (lower-cost items like toys, clothing, cleaning products, personal hygiene items, etc.), but when it comes to bigger-ticket items like appliances, it is simply a mass sales tactic to move those products.
Before buying or reserving an appliance during Buen Fin, check the prices 3 weeks ahead of time. You will be able to tell a fair price from an inflated one — and you might even get a real discount by buying it outside of the Buen Fin period.
